"I am a student. Lazos de Agua brought me closer to my mother because I am a water advocate and I am very close to her. One thing I learned is this is a very good method for people to raise awareness and take care of water. I also learned to take care of it the way it should be done".

"I am a housewife. For me, Lazos de Agua changed my life in many ways. I learned to be more self-confident and to value myself more as a person. It also gave me the satisfaction of being a Leader of Change working for my community and collaborating in something as important as caring for water. My strength is my family who always supports me because they see me happier".

"I am a member of the Water Committee, a fisherman and a Panguero. I have different capacities because I am missing an arm. I am active, organized and a promoter to improve water and sanitation conditions in my community. I am a beneficiary of a family rainwater collection system (SCALL) and a hydraulic flush toilet. I am very grateful with the benefits the project brought to the community and especially to my family. It improves our health".

"I am a housewife, and like all other women in my community, I am responsible for carrying the water. We dedicated our time and effort to make this project a reality. Within 9 months the project was completed and today we have clean and healthy water. Now my children tell me: 'Mom, Mom, this water is delicious, I like it a lot! It no longer has coffee pulp in it'. Water is the most sacred thing for my community. The children won't have diarrhea or stomach pain".

"I am a housewife. Beneficiary of a demonstration unit of the Sanitation System and the Water System in my community. I am a senior citizen, I live alone because I am widowed. Having a toilet inside my house is a great help for me, because before with my husband, we had to go outside to use the latrine and that was very risky".

"I currently work in upholstery. Previously I worked with the sanitation board and thanks to the program we gained a lot of knowledge and there is more unity in the community. Before there was little income, as I worked closer with the board, I know that plumbing and board problems we can solve ourselves. We became knowledgeable about these issues thanks to the program".
