Ecuador
This project aims to ensure that water and sanitation services are managed safely and sustainably for more than 20,000 people in four parish capitals and 22 dispered rural communities in Portoviejo Canton, and for an additional 10,000 people in Cuenca Canton. Here, infrastructure becomes a bridge to well-being, empowerment, and community transformation.
We are joining forces with the Portoviejo Canton GAD, which, through the Triple A Plan, oversees the construction and strengthening of water and sanitation systems for parish capitals; the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID) – Ecuador, wich focuses on improving systems in dispersed rural communities in the Portoviejo Canton, and ETAPA – EP in the Cuenca Canton. Together, we strengthen service providers and promote sustainability through social art, supponting families as they build a better quality of life.
1. Strengthen local capacities, both public and community-based providers to ensure safe and sustainable management of services.
2. Through social art, support communities in adopting healthy practices, connecting to the public drinking water network, and paying services fees, promoting healthier and more sustainable environments.
3. Promote a robust and accessible supply chain that strengthens local value chains and facilitates the maintenance and continuous improvement of systems by bringing suppliers and buyers of materials together wihin the territories.
This project seeks to build a future where access to safe water and sanitation is a garanteed right, and where communities are protagonists of their own development.
